Golf Cart Detailing on Sullivan's Island
Sullivan's is barely half a mile wide. From any station number on the island, Station 16 by the lighthouse out to Station 28.5 near Breach Inlet, a parked cart is never more than a few blocks from open salt water, and most are closer. There is no inland side to hide on. The marsh flanks Conch Creek and the Intracoastal on one edge and the Atlantic works the other, so the air itself does the damage while the cart sits still.
The carts here are different from the rental fleets one island over. Sullivan's carts tend to be owned, kept for years, and driven to Middle Street for dinner more often than to the beach. They are also frequently the nicer end of the market: loaded ICONs, custom Club Cars, carts people intend to hand down with the house. That combination, high value plus permanent salt exposure plus long ownership, makes protection the whole conversation. An owner keeping a cart for ten years on this island will detail it many times; the question is whether those are maintenance visits or rescue visits.
The other Sullivan's signature is the windshield. Ocean-facing parking plus morning fog plus UV hazes acrylic windshields here faster than anywhere else we work, and we polish more windshields per capita on Sullivan's than on any other island.
Getting to you
We come over the Ben Sawyer Bridge with everything on board. Sullivan's has no commercial district to stage from and tight parking enforcement in season, so we work entirely from your driveway or pad. Mornings are the quiet window; the island's afternoon beach traffic makes late slots less predictable in summer.

My cart lives under the house and still corrodes. Why?
Under-house parking blocks rain and sun but not air, and on Sullivan's the air carries the salt. Enclosed storage slows it; nothing stops it except removing the salt regularly and putting a barrier, sealant or coating, between it and the metal and paint.
Do you handle the older restored carts on the island?
Carefully, yes. Vintage Club Cars and restored classics get hand methods, no machine work without talking it through, and we treat original paint as irreplaceable because it is.
Can you do the windshield without replacing it?
Usually. The $45 windshield polish resurfaces hazed acrylic and buys years. Windshields that are deeply scratched or cracked need replacement, and we will say so rather than polish a lost cause.
