Golf cart interiors fail differently than car interiors. There is no climate control drying things out, no cabin keeping rain and spray off the seats, and the whole interior rides at knee height to sand, sunscreen, and wet swimsuits. The result is a specific Charleston cocktail: mildew in the seat seams, a musty smell that peaks in late summer, sand ground into the floor mat, and vinyl slowly baking stiff under UV.
Our interior detail is built around the extractor. Cleaner goes onto the vinyl, a soft brush works the seams and pleats where mildew colonies actually live, and then a heated extractor pulls the loosened grime and moisture back out. Wiping mildew off the surface leaves the roots in the stitching; extraction is what actually resets the smell.
After the seats, everything else gets its turn. Dash and steering wheel, console and cup holders scrubbed to bare plastic, storage pockets emptied and wiped, floor scrubbed and rinsed. The last step matters most for what comes next: every vinyl surface gets a water-based UV protectant, matte finish, no greasy shine, which slows the sun's stiffening of the vinyl and makes the next cleaning easier.

How long it takes
Ninety minutes to two hours depending on the cart's condition and seat count. Seats are dry to the touch within a couple of hours.

Fair questions
Can you get mildew smell out completely?
In almost every case, yes, because extraction removes the growth instead of masking it. The exception is foam that has been saturated for years, which can need seat restoration or new foam. We will tell you which situation you have within the first ten minutes.
Will cleaning damage the vinyl?
No. We use vinyl-safe cleaners and soft brushes. What damages vinyl is the opposite: leaving salt, sunscreen, and UV on it untreated. The protectant we finish with is specifically there to slow that aging.
My seats are white. Can you get the pink stains out?
Usually. Pink staining on white vinyl is typically bacteria or dye transfer, and extraction plus targeted treatment removes or dramatically reduces most of it. Staining that has chemically bonded with the vinyl may lighten rather than vanish, and we will be straight with you about which is which.
